McKEON’s FireFighter® Model D400 is awarded bronze by the readers of Consulting-Specifying Engineer!
Our FireFighter® Model D400 fire shutter curtain received the bronze award in the Fire and Life Safety category of CSE’s 17th annual Product of the Year contest. The program and award for new products was created to provide readers with information about exciting product advancements in the fire and life safety, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems engineering markets. According to CSE, companies submitted their new and improved products – debuted between April 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021 – to be considered for this prestigious honor. Readers then whittled the entries down to 31 winners. Congratulations to all the awardees!
Unparalleled in the market, the D400 is designed to protect openings in any wall rated up to 2 hours – including Fire Walls and Fire Barrier Walls! It has been tested and labeled to UL 10B for 90 minutes with hose stream and UL 1784 smoke and draft. A simple but unique configuration of textile layers are permanently joined together as one unit and stored on a barrel in the head box. When deployed, the D400 descends as if it were a rolling steel door. Twenty-nine of these smoke and fire curtains were recently installed for the first time by McKeon Door East.
