With over 150 participants attending virtually and another dozen in person — McKeon Door of DC’s Code Seminar was a great success!

The hybrid Code 50 seminar, Fire Door Systems, A Guide to Code Compliance, presented by David L. Dodge, CSI, CDT, VP of Business & Code Development at McKEON was sponsored by the Virginia Building and Code Officials Association. This was the first time a Code 50 had been conducted south of Washington, D.C. by the McKeon Door of DC team! The in-person portion of the seminar took place in Williamsburg, VA while the webinar option ensured participants could conveniently attend from any location — representing cities across the state.

The 5-hour seminar focuses on salient guideline principles found in Chapters 3 through 10 and 30 of the IBC. The discussion also includes differences between NFPA 101 and IBC on a few of these issues.

Attendees, both in-person and virtual, received credit of 5 AIA Continuing Education HSW LUs or .5 ICC Continuing Education LUs. The course outline is as follows. For more detailed information visit our Continuing Education page.
