McKEON Kicks Off 2022 With Continuing Education

Last week sixteen attendees representing nine of our valued distributorships participated in our MCE 101 course, Basic Training: Product Awareness, Building Codes, and Marketing.  The curriculum focused on familiarizing distributor staff members with the McKEON brand and its unique business model.  Four of the participants were returning for a second time, wanting to further their commitment to representing our diverse product line.

The two-and-a-half-day seminar took place at the McKEON Training Center in Bellport, NY. The building houses a showroom where class participants interactively operate twelve models of wide-span opening protectives that represent a cross section of the product line.  An adjoining common space accommodates classroom style seating with digital technology where students may maximize the learning experience.

Many topics were covered including:

  • Regulatory standards
  • Estimating and plan review
  • The architectural community, market awareness, and penetration
  • Use of “Fire Door Systems – A Guide to Code Compliance” as a marketing tool
  • AIA HSW accredited seminars
  • Unique building code challenges in vertical space design

The training event also included a factory tour and the opportunity to meet members of the McKEON team in person.  Team members represented engineering, material procurement, expediting, estimating, marketing and social media, accounting, and executive leadership.

We look forward to the remainder of 2022 and a full year of McKEON Continuing Education (MCE) programs.  Stay tuned for a blog post featuring MCE 102: Install Training next month!
